Form
Form changes a 2D shape into something 3D. A triangle becomes a cone, a square a cube, and a circle a sphere. By using highlights, core shadows, cast shadows and reflected lights, you can change a 2D geometric or organic shape into a 3D form.
Project 1 (Forms): students need to create a cone, sphere, cube, and cylinder with appropriate highlights and shadows, with a table line behind them all. Students should create this on black construction paper with colored chalk. 30pts. Examples
Project 2 (Smushed Face Self Portrait): Students take a photo copy of themselves on a copy machine and then recreate it on white paper using charcoal. 30 pts.
